Portland cement in cement production equipment, the production process is representative, limestone and clay is the main raw material, raw material made by crushing, mixing, grinding, and then fed into the cement kiln burning mature material, then clinker and gypsum (sometimes mixed with mixed materials or additives) grinding together.

Cement production equipment with different raw material preparation method can be divided into dry-process cement production line (including semi-dry) and the wet process cement production lines (including half-wet) in two ways.

① dry-process cement production process. While drying and grinding of raw materials, or drying after grinding raw meal powder feeding method of dry-process rotary kiln calcination mature material. But there are also raw raw powder add water ball, into lepol kiln calcined feed method, referred to as semi-dry, is still dry production.

② wet process cement production process. Raw materials and gouache ground into a slurry, then feeding into the wet process kiln feeding method. Raw mix slurry dehydration of wet preparation, made from raw blocks into the kiln feed method, known as the half-wet, is still wet.

Dry low heat consumption are the main advantages of production (such as dry-process kiln with preheater and heat consumption is 3140~3768 kJ/kg), the disadvantage is that raw meal composition not uniform, workshop dust and higher power consumption. Wet production is simple, raw meal composition control, product quality, slurry transportation, workshop dust advantages, disadvantage is the high heat (heat of clinker is usually 5234~6490 kJ/kg).
